This e-mail is to serve as a follow-up to the one that we sent on December 28, 2005 regarding an illness which seems to have become endemic amongst dogs in the New York City area.

We have made an informal survey of area veterinary clinics and have found that veterinarians have been seeing a substantial number of cases of dogs that are coughing, sneezing, have nasal discharge and low-grade fevers.

In doing our survey of area veterinary clinics and hospitals, we have been informed that they have found that this respiratory infection has been present in dogs that have gone to grooming shops, pet stores, daycare and overnight care facilities , including Biscuits & Bath.

For those of our Clients for whom this has not been an issue please simply be aware and be vigilant and seek treatment from a veterinarian immediately if any of the aforementioned symptoms appear. Please keep in mind that dogs can harbor an infection for up to 10 days without showing symptoms, so keep an eye out. For those Clients whose dogs have been affected, please make sure that you do not allow them to interact with any other dogs until and unless they have completed the course of prescribed treatment and have an "all-clear" from your veterinarian.
