02-26-07 Health Update BULLETIN TO ALL MURRAY HILL PET OWNERS FROM THE DESK OF DR. SARFATY, DIRECTOR OF HEALTH, WELLNESS AND PREVENTION AT BISCUITS & BATH FEBRUARY 26, 2007 There has been a noticeable increase in the incidence of upper respiratory tract infection in the Murray Hill section of the city and consequently at our Murray Hill location over the past FIVE DAYS. The most noticeable symptom is a dry, aggressive cough. However, a few of these cases started with vomiting and regurgitation of food before a definitive cough was recognized. Mild fever and nasal discharge have also been reported. Pneumonia has not been documented to my knowledge. If you notice your dog coughing at home, please do not bring him or her to Biscuits & Bath. Call our customer service so that we can assist in making other home care arrangements for your pet. Most upper respiratory tract infections last for 1-2 weeks. During that time, these infections are highly contagious to other dogs. We are taking every precaution to keep our facility as infection free as possible.
